European Bonsai Convention and AGM at Birmingham (UK).
Advisory meeting in Osaka (Japan) about the World Bonsai Convention and the structure and constitution of the World Bonsai Friendship Federation.
1986
European Bonsai Convention and AGM held in Valencia (E), mainly focused on the theme 'For a Western Aesthetic of Bonsai'.
1985
European Bonsai Convention and AGM in Apeldoorn (NL).
Joined Nippon Bonsai Association and European Bonsai Association meeting at Heidelberg, discussing NBA's intention to organise a World Bonsai Convention, to be held in Japan in April 1989, as well as the founding of a World bonsai friendship federation which had been proposed already in 1980.
1984
The first Annual General Meeting of EBA at Mannheim decided to appoint a Committee (Peter Brown as President, Marc De Beule as Secretary, Cees Doppenberg as Treasurer) with the aim to take care of EBA's formal constitution.
On 24 September 1984, EBA's bye-laws were officially laid down by notorial deed (see NL 9 of December 1984).
Annual European Bonsai Convention hosted by a Member Association involving Masters from all over the World.
1983
At the occasion of the 2nd British bonsai Convention - Keele University - a general concept for the future association was accepted. On the basis of a rough outline of a constitution, the co-ordinator Mr. Marc De Beule was invited to finalise EBA's bye-laws .
1982
At the invitation of Paul Lesniewicz, representatives of bonsai clubs from Germany, the United Kingdom, France, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Spain, Italy and Belgium came together during the 1st European bonsai Convention at Heidelberg with a view to informally discuss the possibility of founding a European Bonsai Association . Further contacts on the project during the 1st Bonsai Congress of Asociacion Espagnola Bonsai at Valencia showed great enthusiasm amongst the delegates and draft bye-laws were offered for discussion.
